It definitely does sound like a controller issue, that sucks tho, brand new. Maybe also check the battery voltage or see if there is a faulty cell that could be screwing things up....

United states air force personalized classic cap 6 | So I just bought an X52, and when I turn the bike on, the headlight seems to be always on. Pressing the light button makes it brighter, and holding + only turns on and off the backlight on the display.
